Review of Meeting Minutes:

Arpad asked for any comments or corrections to the minutes of the September 13th
meeting. Michael moved to approve the minutes. Ambrish seconded the motion.
There were no objections.

New Discussion:

PSIJ BIRD draft (Chulsoon):
Arpad commented to add "_" in subparameter names. Subparameter names should
not have spaces. Bob commented to make "e" in "edge" lowercase in the
subparameter names.

Arpad asked how general is this concept. Can it be applicable to multiple
buffer technologies? Chulsoon responded that it has been validated in
single-ended CMOS buffers so far. Bob asked, for example, is this valid for ECL?

Randy asked for feedback on the inclusion of the equations and references.
The references will need to be removed but can remain in the BIRD notes. Bob
thought it was good to include the equations.

Randy noted they have tested some available technology, but other technologies
would be up to model makers to prove that this PSIJ modeling technique is
relevant.

Randy noticed the BIRD may need to make a statement about alignment of values
with corner and not magnitude.

PSIJ frequency domain proposal (Kinger):
Kinger noted the keywords are optional. Groupings can be used for
technologies. PSIJ may be different for particular operation modes. Grouping
was added in the latest draft.

Kinger said there was internal company debate about whether to design based on
DC or multiple frequencies. He thought more than DC impact is necessary for
modeling PSIJ.

[Voltage List] was added and is optional and used to reference power rails
defined under the [PSIJ Sensitivity Group]s.

Randy noted the curve shown in the BIRD is confusing, since the corresponding
[PSIJ Sensitivity] table has much fewer data points. If it is necessary to
include the curve it should be listed as a figure with more explanation. Bob
commented that a simplified curve may be more appropriate to include as a
figure.

Chulsoon asked if there was a LDO circuit included in the response. Kinger
commented that the whole PDN of the system is included. Chulsoon asked about
the inclusion of the Tx and Rx in the same interface. Kinger noted this is a
holistic approach.

Randy asked if the keywords are scoped at a Component level versus a Model
level. Arpad noted it seemed related to the Pin Mapping level. Bob thought
it was a top-level under Component.

Arpad asked what is included in a circuit block. Kinger responded that this
could include the pre-driver, digital blocks, and final driver, all on the
same power rail. Bob commented a Model level may be different circuits but
referencing pins is at the Component level.

Bob asked about the curve summation from Kinger's summit presentation. Kinger
noted some curves are a multiplication and some are additive. The final
result characterizing multiple circuits is the result included in the new
keyword.

Standard Power Integrity Model (SPIM) in IBIS (Kinger):
Kinger noted the latest draft includes changes based on comments from Bob.
Some [End *] keywords were added.

Bob thought there might need to be a [Chip SPIM Group] keyword in the .ibs
file. This would help relate the .ibs file and the .spim file. One or
multiple groups could exist under a Component.

Kinger plans to send out a draft 2 once it is cleaned up and after further
discussions with Bob.

- Bob: Motion to adjourn.
- Randy: Second.
- Arpad: Thank you all for joining.
